I had forgotten all about this. So many memories. I am not sure when it happened, but at some point we all decided Trapper Keepers were no longer cool and switched to those boring blue fabric covered binders and then wrote things all over them. There was a period in sixth grade where portfolios were cool but I thought they were dumb and I kept my plain red trapper keeper (subtle yet sleek).
Holy crap I think I saw this bumper about a thousand times during Jr. High and High School. I remember one time I was walking to the bus in 8th grade and this cool skater kid started talking to me. He asked me if I was going to go home and watch Saved by the Bell. I was surprised by this and responded with a resounding “Hell yes! That’s what I do every day!” thinking he would respond in kind. Instead he and his friends all laughed at me and dumped the contents of my backpack on the ground. I never again responded to questions about my TV viewing habits during school hours.
My favorite R.L. Stine book. The ending was nuts. My gateway into horror fiction. R.L. Stine replied to me on Twitter today. That was awesome.
Oh man, this book, Beverly Cleary, John Bellairs, Judy Blume and The Westing Game are what made me a book nut. I remember reading in bed as a kid until I would literally pass out. This book was always one of my faves.
The NES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles water level. I discussed this briefly with Kevin Eastman on Bagged and Boarded this week. He swears he had nothing to do with it. Episode drops Saturday.
Dawson’s Creek totally stole this. Also, if I were Marshall Darling I think I would have bolted that window shut.
